PREFACE
     Flowers compete in splendor while fashion figures ready to start wriggling. Horns start wriggling. Horns start to ring while fashion talents ready to stand out. Who cast out the kindling of designing and start the firewood of inspiration? Who beat the tide water of personality and reflect the dream of fashion. It is the fashion reflection that let you stand in front of the waves and enjoy leading the trend.
     The 9th “Humen Cup” International Youth Design Contest (Women’s Wear), one of the most influential international design contests, now cordially invite world-wide contributions and welcome the participation of every young designers from all over the world.

QUALIFICATION
Anyone engaged in fashion design and under 35 is qualified to participate.

PARTICIPATION AND DEADLINE
１、Participants can search from the websites www.humen.com,www.fumin.com or www.gdfd.org.cn for detailed information from April 29,2008.
２、Application form is available on www.humen.com,www.fumin.com or www.gdfd.org.cn. It must be completed and sent to the organizing committee by June 30,2008.
３、Participants’ fashion drawings must be sent to the organizing committee by June 30,2008 (limited by postdate).

SELECTION
１、The competition will carry through preliminary and final.
２、The judges will evaluate the works based on the rules after the deadline;30 works will be selected for the final.The organizing committee will publish the name list of finalists on www.humen.com,www.fumin.com or www.gdfd.org.cn after sep.1 and notify them with written form to make preparation for the final.

DEMANDS ON WORKS
１、Subject:Fashion Reflection
２、Range:women’s wear(all fabric & material available).
３、Participants’ design is based on different series. Each series includes 5 suits drawn on one drawing(27cmx40cm). On the opposite side:subject,design thought(less than 50 words) written on the left top;front and back pattern drawing on the left bottom;name,sex,date of birth,nationality,school of graduation,education,working company,address of working company,post code,E-mail,telephone number and fax on the right top(all must be filled in your native language and English);one copy of ID card and color photo(as used for passport) should be attached (packed with an envelope and well sealed);sample of the fabric & material(8cmx8cm)on the right bottom.The drawings are not returnable.
４、The contribution must be the works never published.Such works contributed more than once are regarded as invalid manuscript.

DATE/PLACE OF FINAL AND MATTERS CONCERNED
１、Date/Time:Final is settled at 19:30pm,Nov.22,2008(Peking Time)during the 13th China (Humen)International Fashion Fair.
２、Place:Huanghe Fashion City of Humen Town,Dongguan City,Guangdong Province, China.
３、Finalist should arrive at the final place with costume works on Nov.19,2008(Peking Time).
４、The costume works awarded the gold ,silver and bronze prize have to be kept by the organizing committee.

ENCOURAGEMENT
１、The winners will be awarded bonus,cup and certificate.
One gold prize:30,000RMB, cup and certificate
Two gold prizes:25,000 RMB, cup and certificate
Three gold prizes: 15,000 RMB, cup and certificate
Finalist prizes:certificate
２、The prized works will be published in the professional journals.The final will be broadcasted on relevant television stations.
３、(a)Finalists’ traveling expenses are covered by the organizing committee with standards as below:10,000RMB for European and American finalists;5,000RMB for Asian finalists;3,000RMB for Chinese finalists.
(b)The organizing committee offers free accommadation during November 19—24for the finalists.
(c)The organizing committee arranges a meeting between the finalists and local garment enterprises.
